Strawberry Lemonade Recipe

Homemade lemonade is an excellent drink for hot summer days and a healthier alternative to industrial beverages and juices. This strawberry lemonade is very easy and quick to make, and kids love it! Usually, I prepare it few hours before to be served (if you are making it for a party or family gathering), so it has enough time to cool down and chill.

You will need just few ingredients.

  • water: I use tap water, but you can use the water you usually use for cooking
  • sugar: I use brown sugar in the kitchen, but you can use the white sugar or honey too
  • apples: green ones are the best, but any kind of apple you can find will be fine
  • One big or two medium-sized lemons
  • fresh strawberries

Place the water to boil and prepare the other ingredients.

Clean the strawberries from green parts and wash them, squiz lemon juice, peel and cut apples in 4 pieces.

While the water is heating add to it the apples, lemon juice, and sugar. When the water will start to boil add the strawberries. Keep cooking on low flame for 10 minutes. Remove from fire and leave the lemonade to cool down. Chill in the refrigerator in the glass bottles for 30-40 minutes before serving.

Ingredients

  • 3,5 liters of water
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • o,5 kg of fresh strawberries
  • 2 - 3 apples
  • One big or two medium-sized lemons

Instructions

Place water to boil in a saucepan and prepare the ingredients: clean and wash strawberries, peel and cut apples in 4 parts, squeeze fresh juice from the lemon (s). Combine water with sugar, lemon juice, and apples. Bring to boil and add strawberries. Cook on low flame for 10 minutes. Take off from fire and let the drink cool down. Store in the fridge in glass bottles. Chill in the fridge for 30-40 minutes before serving.

Tips: You can use blueberries or raspberries instead of strawberries. Adjust the sweetness of the lemonade to your taste using less sugar or more lemon juice. Combined with prosecco or dry sparkling wine, it will make an excellent party aperitive drink.
