New Summer Tops Patterns Drop

by Olia

During this summer, I designed a capsule collection of beachwear, and though the summer of 2020 is almost over, I decided to publish patterns of three designs from this collection.

All three designs are done in sport (sock, baby, fingering, fine) weight cotton yarn. They are worked fast and patterns require basic crochet stitches knowledge. Every handmade creation has a story, and today I want to share the stories of these new designs.

Aloha Top

As you can guess from the top’s name, it was inspired by Hawaii – a dream travel destination of my littles. I wanted to create a light piece with feminine lines that can be worn above triangle bikini and hide little belly’s imperfections without completely covering it. The size and fit can be adjusted with ties, and the top will fit standard sizes S and M. You can style it together with denim shorts, long airy skirts, or just your favorite bikini and jewelry.

Sunny Top

Sunny is an airy top that is perfect for fun under the sun at the beach. Ideal for the days when you need to wear something above your swimsuit, but want to stay fresh. Little tassels on the bottom will add a boho vibe to your look. This top will look great with denim shorts, long airy skirts, wide and lose legs pants, or you can wear it above slip style jumpsuit to create a layered look.

Callie Top

“Callie” top design was inspired by antique Greek Patterns. And that’s why its name is of a Greek origin – it means “beautiful.” This top has a slim, but not too tight fit and half-open back. You can wear it for the day at the beach, or for a day in the city. It will look nice with skinny pants, wrap, ruffle skirts, or long slim skirts.

Working on this top I was thinking about beautiful white streets of Santorini – another dream destination on our family travel bucket list.

You can find patterns for all the new designs here.

The rest of this collection will be released in Spring 2021. I still need to outline and test them. So look for announcements here and on Instagram if you would like to test the new patterns before their release.

Before 2019 I released just a few patterns for baby as I was getting many requests on Instagram to do so. This year during lockdown and shop’s shipping closure, I finally got time to create something for myself (did not happen for a very long time!). Dreaming about being able to travel again, I sketched albums of beautiful apparel designs for women. Looking at them, I realized how much I missed the designing part of my work and decided to dedicate more time to patterns creation: for baby, child, mommy, and cozy home.

For the release of these new patterns, I created a new section – “for mommy” – where I will release the designs for women. If you have a better name for it – let me know in the comments below. I would appreciate some help here. Thank you!
